Karghewale incubates weaver-entrepreneurs by offering them a bouquet of services such as design and production training, cataloging digital market linkages, and business support services (yarn, MIS, compliance & accounting etc.). They are a one-stop solution for all textile and handicraft requirements for B2B clients.
Karghewale’s goal, in addition to building agency and ability of artisans, is to transition them from wage-weavers, earning ₹7,500 a month, to weaver-entrepreneurs earning upwards of ₹15,000 a month. Karghewale also provides market access, primarily serving the B2B segment, with some of the items also available for D2C customers on their website.

Nivedita Rai
Founder
Nivedita was the Executive Director of Gudi Mudi Khadi, the flagship project of WomenWeave Charitable Trust from 2016-20. As a part of the senior leadership team of WomenWeave she has directly worked with the founder trustee Mrs. Sally Holkar in strategy, future planning, market and product development aspects of handwoven textiles. She was an integral part of the team that drove the realignment WomenWeave’s mission and vision for the organization to remain relevant in the face of changing externalities. Nivedita has been a part of 2019 cohort of the prestigious Acumen Fellowship along with 22 other changemakers from across India. She is a graduate of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA).
Sourodip Ghosh
Founder
Sourodip was the Executive Director of The Handloom School, a one of its kind innovative project of WomenWeave Charitable Trust, from 2017 to 2021. As a part of the senior leadership team of WomenWeave he led the team that designed and implemented the diversification of WomenWeave into two separate legal entities – the existing trust and a new non-profit social enterprise, for better program management of the umbrella organisation. He was also an integral part of the team that drove the revision WomenWeave’s mission and vision to realign the organization to the changing externalities. He has extensively worked in the space of artisan education and contributed to formalizing its curriculum during his stint with The Handloom School. He has worked with marginalised communities across regions through his work with other grassroot organisations across such as Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra (NBJK) and PRADAN. He is a graduate of the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA).
